| ATIRA
has developed a Yarn Grading and Fabric Simulation system in
collaboration with industry partner M/S Viral Control Pvt.
Ltd., Gandhinagar under the sponsorship of Department
of Information Technology, Govt. of India. It replaces
the traditional Yarn Grading method which is based on visual
inspection of yarn wrapped on boards and results obtained
may vary from person to person. The system has been
successfully tested and evaluated at ATIRA. It scans yarn
electronically using high resolution single line CCD
camera and stores yarn diameter data for further analysis.
There are three different software packages namely
(1.) Yarn Grading Modules (2.) Fabric simulation
Module and (3.) Colour Shade Variation Module
which are use for analysis.
A Presentation-cum-Demonstration
of the system was held on 25th April 2002, at ATIRA and
about 25 Technologist from the industry
participated in the event and appreciated the development.
They gave useful suggestions for addition of some more
features in the system.
